An Agnostic Appeal

Poetry

Don’t sit on the fence they tell me
Take a position; Be either here or there
If it causes me no anguish
Why should anyone dispair?

I’m not saying there is no God
I’m not saying there is;
Let the believer follow his calling
And let the atheist follow his.

Either you are with us or against us
Someone famously one said;
And began a war of epic proportion
that left many on either side of a fence dead.

The birds and the butterflies live in gay abandon
They do not believe nor doubt;
Just living their lives from day to day
Neither with God Nor without.
