At the cost of being Botanically Incorrect

Poetry

Above me a burst of scarlet
in the thick of the summer heat;
Below me a lovely red carpet
laid out beneath my feet.

Just the sight of you before my eyes
Brings a smile onto my face;
No matter how hard she possibly tries
A beautiful maiden can’t match your grace;

From the shores of Madagascar
you have found your way here;
Exotic to this land you certainly are
But oh so delightful you appear.

Just one look at you and I know
That I can’t force myself to ignore;
The fantastic grand summer show
Of the spectacular Gulmohur.
