What role does Mythology play in the modern world, fueled as it is by Science and Reason?

Have you found yourself looking for an answer to this question?

Well…I have racked my brains with this one too!

My quest for answers has taken me into various vistas and helped me make some fascinating discoveries. I have found interesting crossroads where the two areas of my interest – Mythology and History – meet and shape each other.

History gives shape to Mythology.

And Mythology in-turn gives shape to History.

Here I present, some of my research and writings in this area, beginning with my research about the role played by Mythology in the Indian Freedom Movement.

HOW MYTHOLOGICAL PLAYS SHAPED THE INDIAN FREEDOM MOVEMENT

The British came down heavily on Indian Theatre when they realized the Indians were using theatre to spread nationalistic messeges. Playwrights rose to the challenge and scripted plays where the nationalist messeges were coded and hidden – for only the Indian audience to understand. The code-language used was Mythology.
